The Liceo Chiabrera of Savona-Italy-, a school center for the teaching of Philosophy, working together with the Società Filosofica Italiana -SFI- and with the Association Internationale des Professeurs de Philosophie -AIPPH-, have set up a Reasearch and teaching laboratory of Philosophy.
Following a number of meetings with Philosophy teacher from the Province, a project group has organized in Savona, on 9.th Sept. 2004, a Seminar -day to study the Rational models in the history of the school of thought and school practice. A hypothesis for reasearch and renewal in Secondary School. Teachers and students from the provinces of Savona, Genoa, Alessandria and Cuneo attended the seminary. During the course of the day the following lectures wew giveu:
Fabio MINAZZI (Professor of Philosophy of Science and The Teaching of Philosophy at University of Lecce) on Old and news models of Rationality in Contemporay Philosophy, Paolo GENTILINI (Professor of Mathematics and Logics at Research Institute of the Liguriau Region) on the theme Rationality Training, and Alessandra CHIAPPANO ( from the editorial committee of Il Protagora Magazine and researcher at INSMLI in Milan) on Specialist Magazines: the case of Protagora.
To conclude Riccardo SIRELLO (Philosophy and History teacher at the Liceo Chiabrera and member of the board of AIPPh) presented the portal of the Philosophy Center (http://laboratoriofilosofico.objectis.net) .
The project involves teachers of Philosophy, Matematics and other subjectis interested in planning syllabuses consistent with the aim of the curricula of secondary school and innovatory in the teaching methods. There is a double purpose: to make exchanges and confrontation beetwen teachers possible and to produce teaching material usable by a large learning community.
For this purpose a website has been activaded "Il Portale", with guarantees compatible space and time to work together.
Besides this, SFI and AIPPh are willing to be linked with other cultural areas and with teachers from other European contries.
The group will be formed as follows Scientific Manager of the project: Anna SGHERRI COSTANTINI, school Inspector. Training courses Director: Teresa FERRANDO, Headmistress of Liceo Chiabrera. Segretary and in charge of relations: Giosiana CARRARA, Philosophy and History teacher at Liceo Chiabrera. Scientifics Coordinator of the Department of Philosophy, Human Sciences, Religion and Law will be Riccardo SIRELLO. Members of the team will also be Paolo DE LUCA, Daniela RAZZORE and Ornella UNIA, teachers of foreign languages at Liceo Chiabrera, and Irene BORGNA, student of Philosophy at Genoa University.
